These units are designed to introduce students to common mechanical concepts and practices relevant to industrial maintenance and construction.  Students are evaluated on their ability to implement concepts learned in a classroom environment.

  1. Units are delivered incrementally over the duration of the Industrial Electricity program.
  2. Students complete lab practices as time allows.

Learning exercises including interactive lecture, demonstration, and instructor supervised hands-on practice. Use of multi-media delivery devices, such as video, overhead transparencies, white board, pamphlets, books, use of library facility, field trips to industrial facilities, and practical demonstration integrated into lecture and lab.

The Foundations of Electricity/Electronics course provides students with the opportunity to acquire the basic electrical / electronics knowledge and skill that technicians are required to demonstrate in all of the many fields of Industrial Electricity and Electronics.
